Swedish striker hails Rooney as a winner

The Paris Saint Germain striker insists he is loving life in Paris but also concedes that the Premier League is ”one of the best leagues in the world”.

And Wayne Rooney is a favourite.

– He does the unexpected, says Ibrahimovic.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is in the middle of one of his most successful seasons as of yet. the 32 year old Swedish striker has fired Paris Saint Germain to an eight point lead in the French Ligue 1 with his 23 goals and is challenging Real Madrids Cristiano Ronaldo for top scorer in the Champions League with his with ten goals thus far.

Ibrahimovic has won league titles with all of the teams he has represented across Europe, stretching from Holland to Italy, Spain and France.

He has however never played in the english Premier League despite meeting with Arsenals manager Arséne Wenger before signing for Ajax in 2001 and despite interest from Manchester City during Roberto Mancinis reign as manager.

The big Swede does however not shut the door on the possibility of playing on English soil in the future.

Zlatan, do you have anything against the idea of playing in the Premier League?

– I love playing for PSG. I think that the Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world.

Who is your favorite English player?

– Wayne Rooney. He does the unexpected and I like his mentality. He's a winner.

You are often called a genius. Are you a genius? Which other players deserve to be called geniuses?

– Zinedine Zidane. He was born a genius and made his team mates look like geniuses.

What is the best thing about Sweden?

– Everything.

What is the worst thing about Sweden?

– Swedish journalists.
