Little Steven säger: Hello to everybody!
Marre säger: How come you decided to play two shows in Sweden?
Little Steven säger: Well, it was such a great demand for tickets. We tried to give shows to everyone who wanted to come.
Sten säger: Have you ever just wanted to trash your guitar at the end of some big arena concert?
Little Steven säger: When I first started playing, the first band, the Source, we were big fans of the Who. And so we came to imitate their destruction at the end of the show. It became too expensive...
conebone69 säger: Hi Steve! How do you manage to bring out the very best in your perfomances with The Boss?
Little Steven säger: I think it's possibly by growing up when we did, it was an extraordinary time to grow up. THe greatest band of the world were playing, we tried to perform to these standards. Beatles, Rolling Stones, groups like that. They sat very high standards.
Raulolle säger: Which song/record by you guys do you like the most?
Little Steven säger: I like Held up without a gun, which we actually played it the other day. The first time maybe ever. It was the B-side of Hungry heart.
Daniel säger: Hello Steven. What did you think of the audience in Sweden compared to the other places you}ve been to so far this year?
Little Steven säger: They were fantastic! We are lucky because our audience is really really great everywhere we go. There is something special here in Sweden. I think, on my radioshow, we play a lot of Swedish band. I believe this is very much the rock capital of the world. In that sense, perhaps the audience just seems to be somehow in the Swedish blood to love rock n' roll. You can see that in the show.
säger: What does it feel like standing infront of 50 000 happy people?
Little Steven säger: Wow! It's not bad! You know, it's amazing obviously. Sometimes people say isn't it a shock to walk infront so many people. But the audience come to us one show at the time through the years. You start with clubs, theatres and finally to the arenas. You come there slowly, it feels naturally. If you start your career infront of that many people it might be a shock, but now it feels totally natural. We're managed to turn it into a club anyway, we're proud of it. We can play a song we never rehearsed, we just know eachother so well. We're so comfortable, we made the stadium turn into a club.
Tobias säger: Favourite moment during the weekend?
Little Steven säger: Both shows were a lot of fun and different. Playing Drive all night was great, we haven't played it since 1980. Was really fun to play it. We get requests all the time, finally Bruce sayed Let's go and play it! It was fun to do that. It's a very unique song, it was played only one time in the studio. Bruce made the song up as he went. That's why the song is so very special, and so brilliant. It really shows the brilliance of Bruce Springsteen. He was completely improvising it. Amazing.
darlington säger: Where do you get all yor cool shirts? Love your style
Little Steven säger: I were anything people give me. No time for shopping anymore.
Fredrik säger: Why are you called "Little" Steven? :)
Little Steven säger: I left E Street Band 1982, temporarily. I just finished co-producing Born in the USA. I became quite upset with politics and made five solo-albums expressing political concerned. When I came back in 99 I felt I wanted to start a new name, my mother used to call me that and also my favourite rock n'roll star Little Richard, my favourite blues Little Walter and my first record I ever bought was Little Anthony.
Henrik säger: Hi Steven! How did you get the part of Silvio in the Sopranos? Did you have any acting experience before that?
Little Steven säger: I did not. I was not an actor, had no intention to be an actor. I was on tv briefly during the rock n' roll hall and fame induction ceremony. During the ceremony artists interduce other artists and I was interducing an artist. It was the first time the ceremony was televised. David Chase was watching, (the producer) and saw me do the comical interducing and thought I would be good for his new tv-show. Then he asked if I wanted to be in his show. I said No, I'm not an actor and don't want to be. And if I DID want to be, I would be in the movies, not on TV. But they said the scripts were really good, and at that point of my life I didn't think I would be in music anymore. So I said yes anyway. While we filmed I was listening a lot to music again and got up the interest for music again, started with my radio show. And then Bruce decided to get the band together again. I went from no job to three jobs. Right from the last season of Sopranos I got back to the tour.
Fredrik säger: Hello steven! How does the band react when Bruce just call out songs during the concerts that's not on the original setlist?
Little Steven säger: It’s part of the show, we love it!
Moderator säger: Thank you Little Steven for chatting and thanks to the readers for all the questions!
Little Steven säger: Thank you again. while we're gone, please listen to the radio show, we are pleasently surprised how many swedish bands make great rock n' roll.
